A solicitor-advocate who made headlines last year after he was reprimanded by a judge for ‘dressing like something out of Harry Potter’ is to face the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, it emerged this morning.

The SDT confirmed that there is a case for Dr Alan Blacker to answer in relation to allegations made by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the regulator said.

However, the allegations the SDT has agreed Blacker should answer were ’not yet available for publication’.

A date for the hearing will be arranged by the SDT ‘in due course’, the SRA said.

It will be for the SRA to prove the allegations true, using the criminal standard of proof.

Blacker has 14 days to respond to its intention to publish the allegations, the SRA said.
