There is no surprise that Grayling is pressing on with his 'cuts'.

He is a non-lawyer who no doubt seeks to impress his 'leaders & peers', that he can get the job done whatever the cost or level of disruption brought to the Legal Profession. The apt phrase that springs to mind is, 'they'll get over it'.

Here's a thought on cost saving, stop the unnecessary name change of govt. departments & institutions, and the cost of re-branding those institutions. E.g. The now named Legal Aid Agency. 'That should save a few bob.'
