Stephen - you some make good, valid points here. However, funding for legal services apprenticeships are available to all law firms, not just CLS. MMU Law School are also working very well with a group of c 15 Greater Manchester law firms (brought together by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce) right now to recruit as many as 60 legal services apprentices. These qualifications are very new with the introductory Level 3 spec just published, although we've been working on this over the last 9 months as this has evolved.

I've interviewed some of candidates and - as all participating firms agree - the calbre of these young people has been very good; with potential to add a very positive new dimension to most law firms.
