If one wants the State to be (in my case, totally) 'colour and gender blind and deaf', that is both logical and PC, so why the outcry about wanting it to give no cognisance to something which has no existence outside of people's minds? I would like 'believers' to be able to 'practise' their beliefs in private, but not to be able to indoctrinate their children (hypocritically, at least for Christians, who say faith is a free gift from God); we would soon see to what proportion of adults he would offer (and what proportion would accept) that gift.
And whether it's religion-based or not, I would like all the mummery to disappear from public life and taxpayers' money to be spent only on what is demonstrably effective in realising their wishes.
