The principle of spreading global systems and standards of law inter alia to protect human rights is highly laudable. If only the world`s most powerful nation -the USA- would stop its wholesale and contemptuous ignoral of any practical advance towards that goal ! Why not start by abandoning its utterly absurd 50-year old blockade of Cuba (such a success in changing the regime there!) , maintained in the face of annual condemnation by all nations in the UN save the US and Israel. And, the world`s most powerful nation steadfastly ignores the International Criminal Court....They are truly the (rogue) elephant in the Global room.
I will not trouble to detail other examples of breaches of international law in relation to the commencement of military action against sovereign states.
