The article states:
"Whistleblowing legislation at the moment is available only to some. Its coverage must be widened to protect anyone in an organisation who can be mistreated. This includes partners in law firms and LLPs"

We seem to be heading for a dark, dystopian future, where our own professional body provides the material for a costly and out of control regulator to expand its regulatory empire.

Were these comments made with an eye on the tensions which have been created over the last year or so by the creation of the ridiculous COLP and COFA concepts?

Employees have been torn between loyalty to their employers on the one hand, and personal liabilty for failure to report on the other, enduring in the process sleepless nights as a result of compliance overkill.

This morning I hear that the SRA will be commencing early next year "Thematic" inspections of all law firms to ensure adherence with anti -money laundering procedures.

The current policy direction of the Law Society is inimical to the survival of the profession in its current form.
