I agree Calderbank is crude but it works. It persuades people not to litigate a l'outrance in p.i. and it worked in family.

If Mrs Y gets her money (a big if, now that Mr Y has his passport and can get out of reach of a judgment summons, and I bet he will!) she will be left with about £18m. That will allow her to buy a nice house and live comfortably or the rest of her life. Of course it won't buy the £25m pad in Belgravia she felt she was entitled to, and "entitlement" is what this case was about.
