Case in point: I am dealing on a Consent Financial matter. My client keeps asking if I have contacted the other side. I say I have written and I have emailed. I say I have. She asks me if I have ever heard of the telephone. So I call, once twice three times; The other solicitor is out, on the phone, taking a late lunch etc etc. Or he is in and I hang on for 5 / 10 minutes (not doing work for other clients). After a week of this I tell me client that if I was charging at my usual rate my bill would be £930.00. She asks me who my phone provide is because she only pay 2p a minute so a 20 minute call is 40p. It is 5 weeks on now and I haven't received a response yet.

Also I have just completed the sale of 3 flats, comprising 1 development. The contract includes part of the freehold. I have canvassed the procedure for executing the Freehold transfer but 3 CQS firms tell me that are not instructed on that (funny I could have sworn there was something in the CML about perfecting the Lenders title).

And finally following the sale of a tenanted property my client pocketed a months rent about 3 days before completion. I made a point of deducting it pro-rata before sending him the balance but 4 weeks on nobody has asked for £600.00 odd pounds. CQualityS my ****!
