So in effect we must now take on less work and devote more time to it, at the very least on a weekly basis, if not daily. I just hope the clients are ready, able, willing and happy to pay for all this extra work. So 250 files instead of 500 therefore clients must pay twice as much. I am sure there can be no objection to that, other than the fact that they cannot afford it, that is. Just imagine the eyes of QSs clients watering when they are told about the fixed fee they will now have to pay! "That will cost you £2m on a fixed fee basis, Mrs. Young please".

And given that what the SC says is the law is deemed always to have been the law, can any Court of Appeal judges who are reversed on appeal to SC be made to pay the costs thereby incurred?two can play at this counsel of perfection business, My Lord!
