I believe a tipping point has been reached regarding legal aid in general, exacerbated by the refusal of those in power to recognise, let alone address the issues at stake in a rational, coherent way . Hatred of lawyers appears the only guiding principle.
Are people aware of a couple of specific ludicrous injustices concerning legal aid work ? - Firstly that if you fill in a legal aid form to report costs all recovered from the other side (ie. making no claim upon legal aid) and get a tiny detail on that report wrong , you can eventually be denied a legal aid contract altogether , despite the actual cases concerned saving legal aid money and moreover providing indirect evidence of the competence and effectiveness of the solicitor concerned ???!! Secondly a legal aid solicitor is required to submit full legal aid forms within 5 days of a grant of emergency legal aid. Whether in error or not, an automated letter can get sent to the legal aid solicitor saying "in breach of your undertaking you have not provided forms within 5 working days".

A machine-a b*****y machine !-telling you you`ve breached an undertaking !
It is becoming a farce.
