Mr Crawford
Acting as a 'conveyancer' may present a slight problem without being 'licensed' but I'm sure one could get round that by merely 'assisting' clients with their own conveyancing. Maybe a smidgen of difficulty with mortgages, but small firms experience that difficulty anyway, a large number of them having been unceremoniously removed for no good reason from various lender panels. I can't really see probate presenting too much of a problem.

As a solicitor, what do I actually get for my money? The kudos. That is all. Nothing else. On the other side of the coin one can count: the high cost of practice, the need for lengthy and costly qualifications,
extreme overregulation, an un-level playing field and a general belief amongst the general public that all solicitors are 'fat cats' out to rip them off.

So you need pay nothing in either time or money or qualification to operate successfully as a 'lawyer' and huge amounts in money and time and ability, together with various additional handicaps to operate in similar fashion as a Solicitor! Are we all just masochists or are we all just desperate to prove ourselves by defeating
such a serious challenge! The psychology is interesting.
