I think that many Solicitors would find that, if asked, most people would prefer too engage a solicitor rather then an 'unqualified' unregistered 'lawyer'.

Some time ago a long established firm wanted to improve their offices. You know the thing all glass and chrome etc. I advise that to keep their Victorian fixtures just cleaning them and to use wax polish on the woodwork.

The effect on clients (some HNW) was noticeable in that on entering it gave them a feeling of well-being being in a 'traditional' solicitors office.

Don't write off the professional solicitor I believe there's quite a lot of life left in the breed
