A Duty Solicitors view. I foresee litigation.
The majority of firms across the country have refused to adopt the unethical and contract terminating strategy of using fake and lite Duty Solicitors to fill up the duty rotas.
Under the contract proposals, this majority, these ethical firms, face joining with the firms who adopted the strategy or being slowly bled to death. Neither is a realistic option for them.
We have a judiciary that strongly supports ethical practice. Litigation by a firm who refused the strategy, to prevent one who adopted it, from gaining a duty contract is a serious and winnable option. The name of the solicitor who attends every PACE interview and every Magistrates Court hearing is independently recorded.
