I agree. Oddly, there are two simultaneous 'consultations' on the go (one re LLCs, the other re the pre-privatisation company). Solicitors should take the trouble to read both and respond vocally to object. Land ownership ought to remain a central core function, deriving as it does from the Crown's title to all land in the UK [remember, it's "Her Majesty's Land Registry!"], and it constitutes a natural monopoly function; how could there be rival registries, for instance? In just the same way, the allied functions of Ordnance Survey and Companies House should- with HMLR- remain in the hands of the Crown and operated by HMG. here, here. (Hear, hear).
