After turning down a sale and purchase transaction early last year the client insisted on returning and instructing me. The Local soliciitor to whom I had referred her failed to make contact (petty competition and isolation or whatever ?). Reluctantly I took it on as no mortgage capital was involved. The first purchase (commercial property) had to be aborted owing to a poor survey but the second suceeded. It had been years since I did any conveyancing....I enjoyed it. NO mistakes, no complaints, client sent me a thank you card, which is more than I can say for the PI/CN clients.

I'd love to get back into conveyancing, no major canges structurally, I just had a few blank moments when it came to electronic DS1s. The problem is I am frozen out owing to the Law Society / SRA sponsored Mortgage Lenders' oligopolistic behaviour in bearing down on suppliers by restricting their panel memberships and ultimately, fees.

In fact I am now pevented from offering more than 6 practice areas on the SRA's website.

The truth is, relying upon the Specialist Solicitor, as opposed to the General Practitioner, is like putting the Radio Operator in charge of a grand ship. Sooner or later it will run aground.

Anyway commenting here helps to balance out the negativity of my rationed daily left over pickings of PI and CN work.

Yours; trapped & depressed whilst awaiting the PII Gas Chamber in September 2014....see you there....
