Why is being a partner viewed as a status to which to all should aspire? These days, it might be considered as more of a millstone than a benefit - at least for those who do not work in commercial practices in the major cities. Maybe some - perhaps including bright, young women - see a partnership free future as being more conducive to a 'stress lite' lifestyle, whilst still offering financially rewarding career ?
