I entirely agree with the second comment in this thread that being a partner these days is more a burden than an honour. All the title gives you is more stress and onerous obligations, a great deal of those obligations being compliance based.
To be perfectly honest, I would much rather be a fee earner and have less stress and actually have the opportunity of sleeping at night. In an ideal world, I wouldn't even be in the legal profession.
Its a very sad state of affairs to come to the conclusion that you'd be far better and entirely more healthy being out of the profession that you trained so long for. The profession is a mess and there's only one reason for that!
