Why, oh why, did Woolf, Jackson et al not just make piecemeal reforms? In that way the old system could have been tweeked as necessary and if any such adjustment proved to be a mistake it could be reversed. I have never in 40 years seen a change, designed to reduce the cost of litigation, in fact generate so much satellite and costly litigation, not to mention the PII consequences.

"Never in the field of human conflict has so much cost been added by one man to the expense of dispute resolution of so many."

And I mention again that the original order , or rather ordure, was made on 5 June for the form H to be served by 11 June, with two of the days in between being a week-end, so three full working days. And the 'Master' (sic) was a 'Mistress'!
