It is disappointing that so few in this profession, which seems set on mediation and conciliation, have grasped that in all these blogs they are actually in agreement. Of course Human Rights and Business should be taught, along with all other aspects of Law, including something my senior partners knows but I was never taught 'agent for an undisclosed principle'. What is objectionable is the implication that these subjects should take precedence, which as far as I can see was never suggested in the first place. Of course we all learned plenty of things which the court service would prefer us not to use and no doubt business and HR training will end up the same way but it IS a valid point.
