Who thought it - a consultation then a claim that the responses which suggested the changes were stupid were the result of self interest.

I am retired and my income is wholly independent of the legal profession. I suggested the reforms were ill considered. In addition I said that Ramsey would do well to listen to a retired general practitioner like me with more practical experience of low value litigation than probably the whole of the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court put together. Apart from that, what I had to say probably coincided with most of the contributions from practitioners so where was my self interest?
