According to the report there are only a relative few full-time fee-charging McKenzie Friends and most of their work comes from recommendations and word of mouth it seems.

If people entering the family court want to use a MF or lawyer, then it is up to them surely? Why should there be a closed shop for access to justice?

It does worry me when family lawyers equate themselves to GP's and brain surgeons - We all know this is a nonsense comparison if truthful and not being merely defensive.

There are some excellent Mckenzie Friends out there (few and far between) but you could say that about family lawyers I'd suggest, proportionally.
