Dear SRA

Please apply the 2011 Code and investigate matters such as this, which are in the public domain. The profession lost its confidence in the SRA/ Law Society a long time ago, thus reputation is easily lost and much harder to reinstate.

Professionalism seems to be an uncool phrase in 2014. As a solicitor who started in the profession 35 years ago I have to say that the inertia and lack of action ( public statements) by the SRA against large organisations, which have serious question marks raised against them in the open market is staggering.

The SRA should be obliged to read and comment generally, on a weekly basis, in response to the comments in the LSG about such matters. John - please speak with your editor to generate a weekly response. The profession would welcome it, and it might generate some comfort that matters are not being ignored.

SRA, please keep us informed, instead of this deafening silence. Strong leadership is required at the head of this organisation to respond to the concerns of the masses, the sole practitioners and medium sized law firms, which have provided faultless professional service to the public over decades.

Back to basics please ( and I am not quoting John Major by the way - with apologies to Edwina!)
