Oh dear - well that's one way to make sure your spouse divorces you when the kids leave home I suppose...

I will of course on occasion spend a day or two huddled over a laptop when on holiday, take calls on my mobile etc. if it really can't be avoided but certainly not all clients are so demanding or unreasonable to expect you there 24/7 for normal commercial matters nor are my colleagues at work all so unhelpful/useless they won't provide cover if needed.

It just depends on the work-life balance you want to adopt.
This macho 'I have no life so neither should you' mentality is a dead-end in terms of having a happy and fulfilled life. No-one's gravestone ever read 'he was really good at drafting contracts at 2am'
