As a clients interests are paramount PII must be mandatory but there needs to be a common sense approach to the level and type of cover required by each insured. For example a Sole Practitioner with an insurance ceiling of £500.000.00 may be adequately insured whereas a large firm with a ceiling of £3,000,000.00 per case may be underinsured. Difficulties will continue if an "Army boots" approach persists.
Mr Plant please note I prefer use the term "client" and not "consumer" as the latter term says much about the current attitudes prevalent amongst those who now administer the Legal Profession.
