So many comments here illustrate a theme of common sense - my partner has worked on IT infrastructure for landing slots at heathrow and his insurance is £1500 a year- If someone can convince me that an average commercial transaction exposes a client to similar level of risk - well it won't be possible although if someone tries perhaps they do not have the mental capacity to practice anyway- it's scandalous and typical of our regulator without an ounce of commercial acumen to see that the insurance industry is obviously taking the profession for a ride. Some activities yes- but how can one size fit all- it's ridiculous- tailor the insurance to the risk - a four year old can understand that- I would encourage a vote of no confidence in our regulator as one that is too stupid to support the many dedicated professionals impeded by running costs that are disproportionate to the income and risk.
