It really isn't a matter of politics for a Country that has the 4th highest GDP in the World to provide necessary and appropriate means for those in need of "Justice" in its Courts to obtain it. No amount of whining about Austerity, overspent budgets, fat-cat lawyers. The National Debt will have gone up by £600 billion by the time the Electorate get to the Polls next year. As to budgets, how much us going off-shore to holders of the PFI debts that are busting the NHS and Schools? As to fat-cat criminal law lawyers? Not compared to the Metropolitan whizz kids. £70 an hour against £300 - £500 per hour for a senior Civil litigation man.
Grayling is a hatchet man who has never had a client let alone one in deep need of professional help that simply can't get it. Lord Chancellor, "Keeper of the King's conscience" not ever.
