And now the pain seems to be turning into gain. We are the only European country to be showing significant economic progress. Unemployment down, productivity up. The austerity is at long last working. Other European states stagnant, no progress, still high unemployment, high taxation and high public spending. New Labour all over. Friends in France tell me their tax burden is becoming unbearable. Their unemployment rate is over 11%. Those who can are leaving for Brussels and London and elsewhere. If the French in London were all in one place it would be the 6th largest French town. English people out there are struggling to pay their way and often only able to do so because of the strength of Sterling. Others want to return here but cannot sell. Even if they could they would not realise enough to buy again back here. Hollande has been a national disaster. HMG is getting us going again.
