I well recall my father's always simple but apposite advice when I passed my finals "Now what you have to do is to keep yourself up-to-date, David". In those days we did this by reading Law Notes and the annual College of Law booklets and attending their two day courses. They then sold out their continuing education to Central Law Training.

I have to say that the advent of CPD seemed to be a positive step. As always with the LS one positive step forwards is followed by two negative steps backwards.

I hope you soon find a solution to your problem, Hannah. LS, HMG etc create a market, others train to serve it and they then promptly do away with it. HIPS was another classic, Yvette (What a Balls-up) Cooper example. Soon they will talk about doing away with the Accountant's Report. What? You don't say! You mean they already are? Next thing is they will gave prisons where the prisoners can come and go, or just go, as they please! What, you mean to say they already do? The world had gone mad.
