Dear Stephen, shame public don't believe the "mediation is a really great alternative" propaganda despite best efforts of MoJ to ram mediation as an alternative down every Court users throat.
If mediation is so great why don't public flock to mediation as a direct alternative to Court?
This Government has sought to run a justice system on the cheap and has broken the system as a result.
The propaganda about mediation is an example of that. It's supposed superior effectiveness, cheapness and speed have failed to grab the public's imagination.
Mediation works best as part of a Court based system in family cases but not as a durect alternative to the Court system.
For those eager to push mediation as a direct alternative to Court I say "wake up! The horse is dead. Stop flogging it".
