If the Law Society was so concerned it should have got Counsels opinion and brought a private prosecution if the advice was positive.

This would have had the effect of being seen to act in the public interest in protecting fairness in litigation, and promoting the genuine legal profession as doing so.

However, almost certainly no laws have been broken, and the Law Society has always been supine in the face of the lenders, so goes crying to nanny.
