What the MDU don't see are the thousands of claims
that are weeded out by solicitors. Clinical negligence
Letters of claim are not normally written until after
a positive breach report has been obtained from a medical peer and as evidence is needed before a letter of claim unlike in PI Claims the MDU only see a fraction of the reports of poor hospital treatment which abound. They complain of front loading but it is exactly this front loading and obtaining of evidence that weeds out thousands of claims. No one is responsible for a rise in
claims other than the hospitals and practitioners providing poor
treatment.
