It is one more step on the path to destruction for the badge of solicitor.
There are thousands of paralegals who have churned through some very low quality LPC providers' courses. I do not trust the SRA to have the resources or knowledge to check whether or not the required standards (whatever they may be -as yet to be determined) will be met.
No doubt the requirement to practice under supervision for 3 years will also be set aside and then we will be left to pick up the pieces when firms are set up by people with very little knowledge or experience and our reputation and pockets will suffer.
