This should be welcomed as a progressive move for the profession. Speaking from direct experience, the paralegals that I work with produce work that is above and beyond that of a trainee. And, put simply, they want it more! This move will allow their talent to be recognised, and for the out-dated and somewhat unmeritocratic system be reformed.
