I'm amazed there's nothing in the Gazette about the bombshell Supreme Court decision in Coventry and others v Lawrence and another (No 2) [2014] UKSC 46 to the effect that success fees and ATE premiums under the old (i.e. pre-2013) scheme may not be recoverable.

It's a decision that will have massive implications for the cash flow of PI claimant lawyers and ATE providers, as no defendant insurer will now agree to pay either a success fee or an ATE premium until a final ruling's been made.

Come on Gazette, sharpen up!
