This is another example, as with CQS, of the Law Society putting something in place for their own promotion and benefit as opposed to that of it's members. Another layer of administration and cost which will likely give little real assistance for the various reasons mentioned by others.

No doubt we will be forced to sign up for it as the Law Society will ensure it becomes a lender requirement.

Well done Law Society for looking after yourselves.

As a conveyancing practitioner the main problems with the current system are the volume conveyancers who are frankly, in the main, dire to deal with and pretty clueless. The other overall problem is the lack of any commitment prior to exchange of contracts but that is one for the government.

I fully accept technology is vital but that is something most firms can do themselves and those that have not embraced it need to wake up and smell the coffee. What we don't need is more outside interference.
