In Australia we removed the fault provisions in 1975 with the effect that people can carry on as they please with no sanction. There is no doubt that the welfare of the children must remain paramount but in my view completely removing all vestages of fault is retrograde as it removes responsibility and leads to a welfare mentality which in tern reduces the staus of the Courts and the profession. Think carefully before you change the law.
