Brilliant article Monidipa!!!

Sadly, reading the comments, I do believe you're writing for the wrong rag as it appears the readers who placed such negative comments will be of the extinct breed within the next decade; meaning you may be out of the job and the LSG may no longer exist either...

Wake up luddite lawyers! Are you so naive to think that AI and robotics is not going to touch the legal world like the rest of the world?

You mock vision, insight, creativity and the potential of progress because you fear change, risk and ultimately the future and possible demise of lawyering as you know it.

Rather than criticise the author I suggest you open your mind and get reading. There is a plethora of material on the subject of AI and robotics in use NOW, in a variety of industries. Great work and discovery is being done in many laboratories and industries around the world in a variety of fields. AI and robotics is used now in a positive way in many fields and sectors, and has been for many years.

Question: Why not law?

Answer: Because the lawyers and law firms that wield the power are too self interested to change, adapt and adopt the technologies that will help change the world... for the better.

Imagine if Steve Jobs had given up on Apple Inc when he was booted out for being too visionary with regard to helping all people communicate around the world, cost effectively? What happened when he was?

Progress stagnated, Apple share values plummeted, until such time as he was re-instated as CEO and the world was later blessed with communication devices to connect and educate us all. The ipod, ipad, iphone revolution has been a world game changer.

AI and robotics in the legal world will be too, IMHO.

There is a reason the USA government has backed the 're-engineering the brain' project with tax-payers bitcoins.

Start joining the dots rather than sticking your head in the sand and arse in the air to the inevitable rise and dominance of AI and robotics in the legal world in the months and years to come.

The luddites tried to resist the machine, and they failed.

You will too, if you resist.

Accept, embrace, re-educate, re-train, re-skill and at least give yourself the chance to succeed in the Digital and Robotic Age. It's not something for the future. It's here, now...
