Yes. Those who can afford to do for free what would otherwise provide an income for those who need it are not benefactors of society. My professional association/Trades Union had a rule that, when jobs were scarce, no member should undertake hours of work beyond those contracted for, in other parlance 'overtime'.
Only work of a kind that would not be done merely for pay or which not even the richest society could afford to pay for should attract charitable work or giving. Services which society wants provided ought to be paid for by society through taxes. That government (by people all in the top 5% income bracket) resists raising enough tax gives the lie to their claim to be democratic, and if voluntary assistance were not forthcoming, democratic opinion might be expressed in a more violent and hopefully effective manner.
