Why in heaven's name will the public think anything less of us as a profession because say Mr X hasn't got a Solicitor to act for him because he doesn't qualify for legal aid.

No member of the public I have met thinks we have any obligation at all to take on such a case for free...!

The more that the Law Soc goes on about Pro Bono however, the more the public WILL as a result come to expect us to take on cases for free...!
