Good heavens, someone else believes the same as I do. I thought we never made such international comparisons because we've always known we British are best. Have you also been wondering just how good/bad our educational system is, which has always been so different from those folks across the Channel? To take just the BBC, it runs usually pretty good, though superficial, investigations of matters of public concern here - health, prisons, child abuse - but rarely does it make any reference to how such matters are dealt with elsewhere and never in any worthwhile depth.
