David Crawford hits the nail again. I assume a judge at some stage made the blighting of future sales of their properties point to the litigants. The properties are in Cheshire, I think, David.

Of course, the litigants were entitled to their days in court. But a tribunal is entitled to lament the utter waste of time, money, reputation, and emotion in the litigation. The full judgment may be worth reading. It may set out the history of the litigation including case management.

I've not read anything to indicate that the professionals have been criticised. The fact that the appeal took 3 days indicates that there were a few talking points. And, of course, funding may have been courtesy of home insurance litigation cover.
