Thank you for that, Tony. The sad thing about boundary disputes is that they are so rarely about, well, boundaries. That is unless you count the parties' having come to the boundaries of what they can stand about their neighbours.

I always used to ask one particular PE in every purchase "Has the vendor had any difficulties or disputes with any of his neighbours, either relating to the property or personally?" These two properties are, I imagine, now virtually unsellable unless both parties were to agree to sell at the same time. However,, agreement seems to be in short supply in this case.
