This is absolutely preposterous! How does this level of fee increase "reduce the costs of the courts to the taxpayer" or "protect access to justice"? You are spending £375M on modernising the courts??!! How much do you think it would cost to put a bloke or woman in a room with a recording machine laptop with internet access and office staff with an usher? The problem is whenever the civil service and public sector in general "modernise" an aspect of public services it has to be done to a Rolls Royce standard. They act like children in a sweet shop.
