The question Mr Goldsmith posed also needs to be asked of the law society

Small firms face a double whammy-The threat of Tesco type ABS firms and the present dysfunctional PII. If Large ABS firms take off they will crowd out small firms and have no problem with funding PII. Small firms can’t compete particularly where they struggle with the present dysfunctional PII.

What has the law society done about this?

ABS-We are the only jurisdiction to have ABS. IBA 20
13- the chief executive of the law society was on record actively promoting ABS in other jurisdictions. This was reported by the gazette 8th October 2013

Dysfunctional PII- this rages on ruining small firms (and people). In a previous article Mr Goldsmith suggested there are alternatives to the present PII. Have these been explored by the law society? Ha ha.

So another question this time for small firms and those associated with them. Is the law society working for you or against you? Bear in mind the chief executive said as reported by the gazette on the 8th October 2013 there was nothing wrong with competition from ABS. But small firms simply can’t compete with the present PII arrangements
