Google Translate is marvellous. I use it regularly to write to my Lithuanian, Russian and Polish speaking clients. The App is superb for sending clients text message reminders for court hearings. The feedback from clients is that they understand my Google-translated letters and texts and they do show up to their hearings! I send clients both English and translated copy letters. However, for any letters requiring detailed legal advice I would use a NRPSI interpreter to copy translate to ensure that advice isn't lost in translation. A (Capita) Lithuanian interpreter at court recently pooh-poohed one of my Google Translate letters saying it was grammatically incorrect, but my client winked at me and said he had understood my letter perfectly well. I would really recommend Google Translate, which is completely free to use and my clients really appreciate it which also helps retain client loyalty. We are the only firm locally who uses Google Translate to correspond with non-English speaking clients.
