If the civil justice system is so broken how is it that all these claims are being brought against the NHS? Who is financing that if all funding has dried up?

Personally I would make all medical negligence claims have a "gross negligence" burden of proof, half way between balance of probabilities and beyond a reasonable doubt. Such claims have become a major legal industry for which £21bn have been earmarked, 20% of the annual budget. They will finish up bringing the NHS to its knees.

As a comparison it is thought that the whole of the Afghanistan war cost us £21bn...
