I used to enjoy my two days away at Hay-on-Wye, 2 Hours, listening to the College of Knowledge deliver its update on matters both contentious and non-contentious. Also their annual publications dealing with recent developments helped a good deal. But I was recently informed they had 'sold out' the CPD etc training to CLT. I wonder what will happen to them now?

But as for compulsory PII I have my suspicions that this could be a bit of a chicken/egg situation. You are quite correct to identify a loss of integrity and credibility in this once noble profession, but which came first, compulsory PII or the loss of integrity and credibility? The former came in in 1975 when this was still a worthwhile profession, the latter more recently I would suggest and I do not think that the two events are entirely unrelated.

I am helping claimants in a case of the most gross and obvious negligence by a local firm of solicitors here in Llandudno. The attitude seems almost to be 'well they can claim against our insurers so what's all the fuss about, they will be compensated?' Still no reply, of course, to the letter of complaint delivered to the senior partner before Christmas (FYI Christmas 2014...)
