Today I rang the court to speak to the listing section
The automated message told me all the things the Court would not do for 1 1/2 mins and then informed me all the court staff were busy, I should call back later and terminated the call
This is of course against the backdrop of the court staff being pared to the bone, and existing staff morale at rock bottom
If the court service is meant to be run like a business then surely business principles apply - and when the service doesn't then we the hard working tax paying users of the court service should have no compunction about (a) complaining and (b) seeking wasted costs from the court
In the days when the court was a service you could turn a blind eye to the failings - however I don't see that applies any longer
It is ironic though that the current ideology demands the banking system is run as a public service supported by unlimited pockets of public money but the court service is meant to be a business
