The legal aid crime contract model proposed is so unfair that not only criminal solicitors , trainers, secretaries and support staff threatened but also to this end the future for the surviving 527 firms doesn't look too promising !
Either bulk payment or remuneration per case - the end outcome appears that those who survive the "cull" this time may well find themselves running their firms at an economic and an unviable loss.
Will justice be compromised that's how it sounds.
However, by then it will frankly be too late ! The market will be gone the solicitors who undertake criminal work currently may be employed by g4s.
With the criminal legal aid market having effectively gone we then end up with justice handed out in the old Wild West or the government saving face and employing state attorneys.
Whose protecting whose interests ?
I'm looking in the same crystal ball as the ministry of justice !
