I remember years ago posting comments on all the free positive PR press releases that the Gazette used to print under the guise of news. I was called a dinosaur and luddite (which given my age made me laugh).

What is important of course is to realise that the business model does not depend on clients. Craig Holt's job was never to make the firms appear good or develop a national brand. They don't get paid for doing that.

QS was - and is - a registered Claims management Company. Its target it you and I. Not clients who may well be turned off by the name "Quality". The target was to get as many firms as possible to pay the £20k joining fee.

Hence why free advertising in the Gazette was more important than national advertising. That was the target market - more solicitors = more cash. More stories lapped up by LSG threatening the end to all and doom and gloom, with QS being a glimmer of hope.

Ho hum.
